An Indian Bride Stuns in Blue Lehenga — A Bold Twist on Tradition

Traditionally, Indian brides choose red for their wedding attire because of its cultural and religious symbolism. Yet, modern brides are increasingly experimenting with unconventional shades — from Alia Bhatt’s white saree to Anushka Sharma and Kiara Advani’s pink lehengas. Among these bold choices, blue remains rare, but one bride recently embraced it with breathtaking results.

Fashion stylist Chahat Chaudhary shared a video of bride Nandini Ghai, who wore a light blue lehenga for her Anand Karaj ceremony. The ensemble, designed by Falguni Shane Peacock, is valued at around ₹4,50,000 and has previously been worn by celebrities like Tamannaah Bhatia and Alanna Panday. Chahat praised the bride’s daring choice, noting how beautifully she paired the lehenga with white churda and kaliras, calling it “a hit experiment.”

The lehenga featured a half-sleeved blouse, dupatta, and a sweeping veil. Its intricate detailing included sequin lotus motifs, floral embroidery, crystal tassels, and brocade work. The veil, edged with crystal tassels along scalloped borders, added a dramatic touch.

To complete her look, Nandini accessorised with a white gold nath, sapphire and kundan jewellery, matching earrings, a mang tika, white bangles, and kaliras. Her sleek bun, decorated with blue and lavender flowers, tied the entire look together, making her bridal appearance both regal and refreshing.
