While users in the US struggled with error messages such as “Hmm… something seems to have gone wrong,” access in India remained normal.

Global Impact and VPN Workarounds

Reports indicated that the outage extended beyond the US, with users in Hungary also affected. However, switching to VPNs allowed access in countries like Ireland, Canada, India, and Poland, though response times were slower in some regions.

OpenAI’s Official Statement
