India’s 42nd Vande Bharat Express to Operate with 20 Coaches from January 26
India’s 42nd Vande Bharat Express, connecting Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central, will temporarily run with 20 coaches from January 26 to March 7, 2026. The addition of four AC chair car coaches increases capacity by 278 passengers, ensuring smoother travel for the growing demand. Covering 491 km in under six hours, the train continues to be a fast, comfortable option with key stops at Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali.
To meet rising passenger demand, Indian Railways is expanding the capacity of the Ahmedabad–Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express. Starting January 26, 2026, the train will temporarily run with 20 coaches, offering greater seating and enhanced comfort.
