Olivia Rodrigo is speaking out as outrage continues to mount over recent deadly encounters involving the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement. On Sunday, the 22-year-old pop star took to Instagram Stories to condemn ICE’s actions following a string of fatal incidents tied to federal immigration enforcement, including the recent killing of a Minneapolis ICU nurse and the earlier shooting death of a Minnesota mother. The statement appeared over a plain background, posted directly to Olivia Rodrigo's Instagram Stories, and was accompanied by reposts calling for political accountability and legislative pressure.

“ICE's actions are unconscionable, but we are not powerless. Our actions matter. I stand with Minnesota,” Olivia Rodrigo wrote in a message shared with her more than 61 million followers.

In addition to her written message, Olivia Rodrigo reshared a post from political commentator Ben Sheehan that included a script and guide urging people to call their senators and demand they filibuster the upcoming Homeland Security appropriations bill if changes are not made.

“I don't know what else to say. There's a murderous federal agency terrorizing an American city. Executing people for documenting their activity, Detaining witnesses for simply exercising their rights,” the message began. "If you support this, you're on the wrongest side of history you could possibly be on."

The post went on to explain how there are a lot of things Americans can do, but "one thing is to STOP THE SENATE THIS WEEK from giving ICE another $10 billion," before urging followers to call 202-224-3121 "twice daily, once per senator" and "tell them how you feel about what's happening."

She also reposted Sheehan’s criticism of ICE, which referred to the agency as a “murderous federal agency.”

Olivia Rodrigo's post comes amid growing scrutiny of ICE following multiple deadly incidents in Minnesota.

On Saturday, video footage showed Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse, being shot 10 times while being tackled to the ground after his licensed firearm had already been safely removed by an ICE agent. The shooting occurred in Minneapolis and quickly sparked national backlash.

The incident followed the January 7 shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, who was shot in her vehicle by an ICE agent. According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, Good still had a pulse after being shot in the left side of her head, but was denied emergency medical care by a doctor at the scene.

Beyond the Minneapolis shootings, ICE has faced increasing criticism over deaths occurring in its custody. Not including the two American citizens killed on Minneapolis streets, six detainees have reportedly died in ICE custody so far this year, adding to the 32 detainees who died last year.

Mariska Hargitay also added her voice to the growing outrage, sharing a stark message on social media that appeared to call out what she views as a moral breaking point in the country’s current climate. Hargitay reposted a graphic that read, “WHAT DIVIDES US NOW IS NOT OUR POLITICAL VIEWS, BUT OUR ETHICAL BELIEFS.”

Jamie Lee Curtis also weighed in on the Minneapolis shooting with a blunt Instagram post that quickly sparked reactions. In a carousel, Curtis shared tense images from the scene, heavily armored officers moving through smoky haze, an overhead shot of a snow-lined street with smoke plumes and debris, and masked tactical officers standing behind bright yellow police tape as someone ducks down in the foreground. She captioned it simply, "THIS IS AMERICA!”

He added that Walz “very respectfully, understood that.”
