Sanjay Mishra leads the return of Vadh 2 at IFFI 2025, reflects on the film's emotional and spiritual depth: "A beautiful, sensitive, and unique film"

Following the success and critical acclaim of Vadh, its spiritual sequel Vadh 2—written and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu—was set to make its debut at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa under the Gala Premiere Section. The new film, led by Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, introduced a fresh storyline with new characters and complex emotional conflicts while maintaining the depth and tone that defined the original.

Vadh had been showcased at IFFI Goa in 2023 under the Indian Panorama category, where the makers first announced Vadh 2. With the sequel returning to the same festival in 2025 for its Gala Premiere, the team’s journey came full circle.

Sanjay Mishra, Jaspal Singh Sandhu, and producer Ankur Garg made an elegant appearance on the red carpet of the 56th IFFI as they arrived for the premiere of Vadh 2. Known for their impactful work on the original film released in 2022, the team appeared enthusiastic as they posed for photographs and interacted with the media, reflecting the anticipation surrounding the sequel.

During the Red-Carpet interaction, Sanjay Mishra was asked how it felt to lead a sequel, considering he had previously been part of successful franchise films like Dhamaal and Golmaal. Responding to the question, he said, “It’s a beautiful sequel. I think it is a very sensitive and unique film. It feels good that others also want to see your work.”

Produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, Vadh 2 marked a meaningful return to IFFI, where its predecessor had first been announced. On the red carpet, Mishra, Sandhu, and Garg expressed their gratitude to viewers and supporters, reflecting on the path from the original film to this milestone moment.

As a spiritual sequel, Vadh 2 presented a new narrative while carrying forward the emotional intensity and grounded storytelling that had made Vadh a notable title in Indian cinema. The film explored different characters and situations but retained the realism and depth that resonated with audiences.

A Luv Films presentation, Vadh 2 was written and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu and produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 6 February 2026.
