Sara Ali Khan Dazzles in Manish Malhotra’s Pearl-Encrusted Couture

Pearls have stepped out of jewellery boxes and onto the runway, becoming one of fashion’s biggest statements this year. Designers are reimagining pearls in contemporary silhouettes that blend nostalgia with modern elegance. Among them, Manish Malhotra unveiled actor Sara Ali Khan in a breathtaking pearl-embellished ensemble.

Sara wore a halter-neck blouse paired with a godet skirt, both intricately adorned with pearls and Swarovski crystals. Malhotra described the look as a “modern heirloom,” where timeless craftsmanship evolves into couture infused with emotion. Each pearl was handwoven by artisans, reinforcing the idea of couture as wearable art.

Her styling was kept minimal yet chic — hair tied in a low bun with soft tendrils framing her face, complemented by diamond studs. The understated accessories allowed the pearl detailing to take center stage.

Pearl embroidery recalls the grandeur of royal attire, once crafted with gemstones, gold, and silver, and treasured as heirlooms passed down generations. Reviving this regal aesthetic seems to be a defining trend for 2026.

Earlier in December, Janhvi Kapoor also embraced the pearl trend in a cream lehenga with stone and thread embroidery. Her standout blouse featured cascading pearl strings across the yoke, sleeves crafted entirely from pearls, and a dupatta made of layered pearl strands instead of fabric — a striking reinterpretation of traditional couture.
