Savannah Guthrie's Brother-In-Law Might Allegedly Be 'Prime Suspect' In Mother's Disappearance? Cops Respond To Report!

UPDATE 7:30 A.M. PST: The cops are shutting this down! Wednesday morning they responded to reports of Savannah’s brother-in-law’s being an alleged suspect, saying:

“We have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie. We are also awaiting additional forensic results. We are not confirming the car being seized, we are unsure where that reporter is getting that information.”

OMG. This is a chilling theory.

As the search for Nancy Guthrie continues in Arizona, reports are now surfacing that her own son-in-law could be involved! Yikes.

Journalist Ashleigh Banfield was the one to drop this bomb on her Drop Dead Serious show on Wednesday, claiming that a highly trusted law enforcement source with knowledge of the case told her that Savannah’s brother-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, has allegedly been identified as a “prime suspect” in the case. WTF!

Tommaso is Savannah’s sister Annie‘s husband. Annie reportedly had dinner with Nancy on Saturday night, before dropping her off at her home at around 9:30 p.m., hours before the 84-year-old is believed to have been abducted from her home. She’s supposedly the last person to see Nancy before she went missing. It’s unclear if her husband was with her.

According to the former NewsNation journalist, Annie’s car has now allegedly been towed and impounded by investigators because it has “some connection” to her 50-year-old partner.

The reporter clarified her claim that Tommaso “may be a prime suspect in this case,” explaining:

“At the very least, let me tamp that down, because sometimes it’s the first person you’re looking at, not prime as in there’s no one else. Families are always looked at first, as well.”

Nancy’s doorbell cameras, reportedly from the brand Nest, were also all “smashed.” Ashleigh said her sources claimed “whoever did this knew there were two” and allegedly destroyed both. It’s still a little unclear if police have the broken cameras in evidence or if they were taken by the suspect(s), but they’ve said they’re aware of the destroyed devices and are investigating.

As seen in previous NewsNation footage, a harrowing blood trail was seen on the front walkway of Nancy’s home. Ashleigh alleged there was blood found inside the home as well, and that the back door of the home was left open.

Police are now investigating reports of ransom notes sent to various media outlets on Tuesday, too. Ashleigh’s sources don’t think they’re legit, but at this time, anything’s possible. Police are currently investigating the leads and they have not been verified at this time.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and Guthrie family have not commented on this new theory yet. So, again, it could just be a wild theory. We’ll have to wait until official word comes in to know for sure what’s going on…
