Carrera Chronograph (Tag Heuer)

TAG Heuer has unveiled a remarkable expansion of its flagship Carrera collection for 2026 that’s inspired by a “Master of Chronograph” theme. The new drops bridge the gap between historic tool-watch utility and high-end horology, featuring a versatile new 41mm glassbox size, a technical split-seconds complication, and the return of the tide-tracking Seafarer, all unveiled during LVMH Watch Week, the first major watch show of 2026.

The cornerstone of the launch is the new Carrera Chronograph in 41mm. This timepiece is designed to serve as a contemporary middle ground between the heritage-inspired 39mm edition and the larger racing models. It utilizes the glassbox design first revived in 2023, characterized by a curved sapphire crystal that flows over the dial flange to maximize legibility. The 41mm series debuts with three distinct dial options: a signature circular-brushed blue, a rich teal green, and a racing-inspired black with red accents. All three versions are powered by the in-house TH20-01 movement, which offers an 80-hour power reserve and a vertical clutch for smooth chronograph operation.

Carrera Split-Seconds Chronograph (Tag Heuer)

Advancing into the realm of haute horology, the brand also introduced the Carrera Split-Seconds Chronograph. This marks the first time a rattrapante complication, which allows for the timing of two separate events simultaneously, has been integrated into the Carrera line. Housed in a 42mm grade-5 titanium case, the watch features a translucent sapphire dial that showcases the intricate hand-finishing of the TH81-01 movement. Developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, this high-frequency movement beats at 5Hz and consists of more than 350 components, many of which are finished with a signature hand-engraved checkered flag pattern.

The maritime heritage of the brand also sees a significant revival through the Carrera Chronograph Seafarer. Inspired by the Heuer Solunar and Seafarer models of the mid-20th century, this 42mm timepiece includes a dedicated tide indicator at the six o’clock position. Originally conceived in 1949 for the American retailer Abercrombie & Fitch, the complication allows sailors to track high and low tide cycles over a 29.5-day period.

Carrera Chronograph Seafarer (Tag Heuer)

The Seafarer utilizes the TH20-04 automatic movement and features a color palette of Intrepid Teal and opalin champagne. This specific shade of teal pays homage to the 1967 America’s Cup winner, the yacht Intrepid. Both the 41mm Chronograph and the Seafarer are equipped with a redesigned seven-row steel bracelet, a modern interpretation of the vintage beads-of-rice style that became a staple of early Carrera models.
