Quinton Aaron, the actor forever linked to his breakout role as Michael Oher in The Blind Side, is currently on life support after collapsing at his home.

According to information revealed by his wife Margarita to TMZ on Monday afternoon, Quinton has been hospitalized on life support for several days now.

But while the situation remains serious, signs are giving his loved ones cautious hope. The medical devices supporting him are not doing all the work, she told the outlet. He is partially breathing on his own — a detail that might sound small but means everything when you are waiting by a hospital bed and praying for progress. With each passing day, Margarita said he has shown improvement.

Meanwhile, doctors are still trying to figure out the root cause of what happened. Quinton is dealing with a blood infection, and a battery of tests is ongoing to determine exactly where it started and how it spread. For now, answers are limited.

The timeline leading up to his collapse is especially unsettling. Margarita explained Quinton woke up one morning feeling sore — something many of us would brush off as a bad night’s sleep. But days later, pain in his neck and back hadn’t gone away. Then, while walking up the stairs at home, he suddenly lost feeling in his legs. In a moment no spouse ever wants to experience, Margarita — who is a registered nurse, BTW — rushed to his side and called 911.

On the way to the hospital, Quinton was slipping in and out of consciousness. Doctors ultimately recommended life support, a decision that underscores just how critical his condition was when he arrived.

Still, those closest to Quinton are holding onto faith and resilience. Margarita describes her husband as “a fighter,” for one. She also shared with the news outlet a message that captures both the gravity of the moment and the hope carrying them through:

“He’s showing a lot of improvement. We all have faith in God that he will walk out of here fully recovered.”

For now, that faith is what sustains his family as they wait.

We are sending all the love and light in the world, and we hope Quinton recovers fully from this awful ordeal.
