The Raja Saab Hindi Box Office: Prabhas starrer shows no signs of growth on 1st Tuesday, nets Rs. 1.25 crore

The Raja Saab collected another Rs. 1.25 crore on its first Tuesday in Hindi. Ideally, it should have recorded a spike since the ticket prices were reduced to affordable rates across the chains. It failed to register any sort of growth which means if there were no discounts, the Tuesday figure would be on a much lower side. 

The horror-comedy entertainer, directed by Maruthi, doesn't have much fuel left to keep running at the box office. Currently standing at Rs. 16 crore, the Prabhas starrer is looking to wind its first week around Rs. 18 crore net in Hindi. Since the trends are poor, the movie won't be able to hold many screens in the second weekend. 

Mounted on a huge scale with a massive budget, The Raja Saab turned out to be a big miss for the makers. Based on the current trends, it is expected to wind its entire theatrical run around the Rs. 20 crore mark or so. 

Prabhas has seen success at the Hindi box office since the Baahubali films. However, that success has largely been confined to the action genre or films with devotional or religious undertones. Other than these two, he has failed to score, first with Radhe Shyam and now with The Raja Saab. While the film is an entertainer from the in-fashion horror-comedy genre, staged on an extensive scale, the comedy didn’t really click in the trailers. It being a South-style comedy is probably the holding factor.
