Kiefer Sutherland Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting & Threatening To Kill Uber Driver -- WTF?!

Designated Survivor star Kiefer Sutherland was arrested for making a shocking threat towards an Uber driver!

TMZ got the scoop on Wednesday. According to law enforcement sources, the incident went down on Sunday night. The actor told police he was having dinner with a friend when he called an Uber Black late at night. The driver arrived, and they went on their way toward his home. All was normal at first.

But for an unknown reason, at some point, the British-Canadian star asked the driver to pull over and let him out. The 59-year-old alleged the driver refused — so he asked twice more, but nothing changed.

At this point, Keifer got worked up. The ride-share driver alleged he threatened to kill him if he didn’t pull over! WTF?!!

The driver called 911 and claims the 24 alum assaulted him with his hands. Yikes.

It’s still unclear exactly what occurred in that car, but it seems likely that a language barrier played a large role. Law enforcement insiders claimed that when authorities arrived, the Uber driver, who spoke Russian or Armenian, asked for a translator. The Los Angeles Police Department contacted someone who spoke the language.

According to reports, nobody was seriously injured or required medical attention. The TV star is still facing some SERIOUS problems as a result of the altercation, though! Online records show he was arrested early Monday morning for a felony — because he made a criminal threat. He was released on a $50,000 bond. Wow.

He has a court date scheduled for February 2 in LA. At this time, he has not spoken out on the incident. Keifer was previously sentenced to 48 days in jail back in 2007 after a DUI arrest.
