Hopefully Joe Alwyn can Shake It Off and not let his ex’s songs get to him!

On Sunday, during the 2026 Golden Globes, the 34-year-old actor dazzled while attending the award ceremony. He took home a big win when his film Hamnet won the Best Motion Picture – Drama category, which was super exciting! But some fans couldn’t help but wonder what was going on in his head throughout the night while Taylor Swift‘s music continued to fill the air of the Beverly Hilton‘s International Ballroom.

In case you didn’t catch it for yourself, the show’s host Nikki Glaser made her entrance to Style during the night, and at one point Shake It Off could be heard playing during the ceremony. Tay Tay’s newest hit The Fate of Ophelia also rang out over the speakers at one point — all the while her ex boyfriend was sitting there in the room!

Now, of course, we doubt this is new to Joe. Tay’s music is literally everywhere, she’s one of the biggest stars in the world! He’s probably had his fair share of practice being in public and catching her songs playing in a restaurant or store somewhere. But that didn’t stop Swifties from poking fun at the ironic moment.

On X (Twitter), fans even pointed out the irony in all this: The Fate of Ophelia is a love song dedicated to her fiancé, Travis Kelce! So poor Joe had to sit there while hearing his ex sing about how her new man saved her from drowning in her loneliness and becoming her true Lover. Omg!
